kansas city chiefs Running back Isiah Pacheco is recovering from offseason surgery, head coach Andy Reid confirmed Monday
According to reports over the weekend, Pacheco suffered a torn left hand in the last Super Bowl LVII.
“He’s making progress,” Reed told reporters. “We’ll see. I can’t even give you a timeline.”
Reed also had an update on first-round pick Felix Anudek-Uzoma, who was limited during rookie practice that ended Monday. The defensive end, who played at Kansas State, had surgery on his right thumb before the draft, Reed said.
“He did a little bit more today than he did yesterday, and we’ll gradually get him back,” Reed said. “Today, he put on the helmet and did a lot more. You might be hoping for a third, but you don’t know. We’ll see how he feels.”
Pacheco, 24, was promoted from a seventh-round pick to a starter in the 2022 draft. He started 11 of 17 games, ran for 830 yards, had five touchdowns and added 130 receiving yards.
Anudike-Uzomah, 21, appeared in 32 games (27 starts) at Kansas. The Kansas City native is tied for sixth in school history with 20.5 sacks and fourth in career forced fumbles.
