Aaron Rodgers traded to the New York Jets in blockbuster deal with packers. The long-awaited trade of Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets has finally been completed. The Jets and the Packers agreed on a blockbuster deal on Monday that sent the four-time NFL MVP quarterback to New York with a first-round pick and a fifth-round pick. In exchange, the Packers received three picks from the Jets, including a first-round pick and a conditional second-round pick that could become a first-round pick.

The trade was confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who reported that the Jets would receive Rodgers, the 15th overall pick, and a fifth-round pick. In contrast, the Packers would receive the 13th, 42nd, and 207th pick in this year’s draft and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that would become a first if Rodgers plays more than 65 percent of the offensive snaps in 2023.

The trade ended an 18-year run for Rodgers in Green Bay, where he led the Packers to a Super Bowl title in 2010 and won four MVP awards. However, his relationship with the Packers soured over the past year due to his frustration with the team’s management and personnel decisions. He also wanted to play for another team, preferably the Jets.

Rodgers had been vocal about his admiration for the Jets and their head coach Robert Saleh, who he called “a phenomenal leader.” He also wanted to play in New York because of its media market and fan base. He even went on a “darkness retreat” in February to contemplate his future and came out wanting to play for the Jets.

The Jets had been searching for a franchise quarterback for years and had failed to find one in their recent draft picks. They had a disappointing 7-10 season in 2022 and missed the playoffs for the 11th consecutive year. So they decided to boldly pursue Rodgers, who they believed could elevate their young and talented roster.

The Jets and the Packers had been in talks for months but had stalled due to disagreements over the compensation. The talks were reactivated last week and moved quickly as both teams wanted to finalize the deal before the draft. The Jets were willing to part with some of their draft capital to acquire Rodgers, who they viewed as a once-in-a-generation player.

Aaron Rodgers finally joins the Jets in a trade with Packers is one of the biggest trades in NFL history and has huge implications for both teams. The Jets hope that Rodgers can lead them to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1969 and end their championship drought. The Packers hope they can rebuild their team around their young quarterback Jordan Love, who they drafted in 2020 as Rodgers’ successor.
