Last week, it was revealed that the city of Orlando wants to make a pitch to land an MLB franchise in the foreseeable future.
The group intends to build a $1.7 billion stadium and would add a third team to the state of Florida, although it could be just two depending on what happens with the Tampa Bay Rays.
More details about the pitch emerged on Tuesday, according to Front Office Sports.
“Orlando Magic co-founder Pat Williams is pitching a $1.7 billion stadium across from Sea World. ‘The Orlando Dreamers’ are hoping to lure either an MLB expansion team or the Tampa Bay Rays,” they tweeted.

There you have it: the “Orlando Dreamers” would be the name of the new franchise.
If successful, the group could be one of the expansion locations or serve as a relocation spot for the Rays.
MLB wants to expand to 32 teams.
The idea has been floating around for a while.
Cities like Charlotte, Nashville, Salt Lake City, and now Orlando are strong candidates.
However, nothing is official yet.
Per Front Office Sports, the stadium would be funded in part by $975 million from tourist taxes.
Williams has experience in the sports world.
He helped launch the Orlando Magic back in the 80s-90s, and is a well-known former NBA executive.
It remains to be seen what the plan is regarding fan attendance to games.
Both the Rays and the Miami Marlins are near the bottom of the standings in that regard, and have been for years.
The project, however, appears to be very serious.
Only time will tell if the Dreamers ever get their wish.
