The NFL is set to release its schedule for the 2023 season on Thursday, and fans are anxiously waiting to see what big and intriguing matchups it will contain.

There have been a few changes made in the way the league schedules games this year, including the ability for teams to have as many as two games on Thursday Night Football and a contest on Black Friday for the first time.

In addition, not all teams will be guaranteed a game in primetime, so now some of the league’s marquee teams are vying for the most such contests this coming season.

Television ratings for the NFL have increased over the last couple of seasons after peaceful player protests and the COVID-19 pandemic led some to think the league was in trouble in that department.

But Commissioner Roger Goodell isn’t resting on his laurels — he wants ratings to climb even higher, and no one can blame him.

Which team will end up having the most primetime telecasts in 2023?

Will it be the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, who are always must-see TV thanks to quarterback Patrick Mahomes?

Will it be their opponent in last season’s Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles, who have something to prove after blowing a 10-point halftime lead in that contest?

The Dallas Cowboys always seem to draw lots of viewers because of their talented roster and their brash declaration as “America’s Team.”

There will also be the big-market New York Jets, who are now led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and a young, talented cast around him.

Could it be another team, such as the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, or the San Francisco 49ers, all of whom have legitimate championship aspirations?

Whoever it is, the 2023 season will be required viewing for sports fans across the land.
