Bijan Robinson Makes His Thoughts Clear About Falcons Offense

The 2023 NFL draft crop has centered around three very good quarterback prospects in Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, and Anthony Richardson.

But there are some other bright prospects from this year’s draft, and perhaps the best non-QB prospect is running back Bijan Robinson from the University of Texas.

Many feel Robinson has bona fide star potential, even though he plays a skill position that has become undervalued over the last decade or so.

The new Atlanta Falcons tailback says he likes the idea of head coach Arthur Smith using him as something of a utility man.

“He uses me everywhere, from receiver to running back,” Robinson said of Smith after the Falcons opened rookie minicamp Friday. “He lets me do my abilities and skill set the right way, whether it’s catching the ball, running routes, obviously running the football, blocking and doing it all.”

Robinson dazzled in three seasons with the Longhorns, totaling 3,410 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns in three seasons, including 1,580 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns on 6.1 yards per carry in 2022.

But he has also shown some ability as a dual-threat back by notching 314 yards and two touchdowns in the air last season.

The Falcons may not have a solid quarterback, but they do have some talent elsewhere on offense.

Running back Tyler Allgeier will team with Robinson to give them a nice one-two punch in the backfield, while wide receiver Drake London was one of the best rookies in the NFL last year and 22-year-old tight end Kyle Pitts has plenty of promise.
