The Chicago Bears will bring in a very notable name in the form of former Tennessee Titans star Eddie George, who aspires to be a coach on the NFL level someday.

The team is bringing in George and Randy Shannon as part of the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, which brings in people like George and Shannon that want to get involved in coaching.

The goal of the fellowship is as follows, according to ChicagoBears.com.

The program’s objective is to use NFL club’s training camps to give coaches and scouts opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience and ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.

The kind of experience George and Shannon will get during this time with the Bears organization will be invaluable and help them on their journey to one day be a head coach on the sidelines for a professional football team.

The team will also bring in six additional coaching hires for training camp next month.

Along with an incredibly successful career in the NFL with the Titans, which included six Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro nods, George recently made his jump into coaching, with the former NFL star being the head coach of Tennessee State since 2021.

George’s coaching stint hasn’t gone all that well at Tennessee State thus far, with the 49-year-old sporting a record of 9-13 over the past two seasons as the leader on the sideline.

Clearly, George could use some advice from those on the professional level, even though the Bears might not be the best place considering its record over the last two years being less than stellar,

The Bears’ record over the past two seasons is 9-25.
