On Monday, the San Francisco Giants bounced back from an early 2-0 deficit against the Philadelphia Phillies to pull off an important win.
San Francisco defeated the defending National League champions by a final score of 6-3 in their series opener.
However, the win meant a little bit more to the Giants than just an ordinary win.
In fact, it was a historic victory for the Giants.
With their win on Monday, the Giants became the first MLB team to reach 11,500 victories.

The win for the Giants made them the first team in MLB history to win a total of 11,500 games.
In fact, in regular season play, the Giants are the winningest franchise in baseball history.
But their history is rich, and full of great moments, memories, teams, and players who have left an impact on the organization and the game of baseball.
The Giants initially started off as the New York Giants and shared New York City with the New York Yankees and then-Brooklyn Dodgers.
The organization was established in 1883.
In 1958, the team moved to San Francisco.
Since their move to San Francisco, the Giants have won three World Series titles, all of which came in a span of five years from 2010-14.
The team has eight World Series titles, five of which were in New York.
That ranks second in National League history behind the St. Louis Cardinals, who own 11 World Series titles.
