Things haven’t been going according to plan for the New York Mets this season.
After winning 101 games last season, the team is struggling to stay around the .500 mark.
They were dealt a tough blow on Monday, falling 10-3 to the Washington Nationals in their series finale.
That loss dropped them to two games below the .500 mark and into fourth place in the NL East.
New York is 6.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves, who lead the division.
However, there are some other issues the Mets have been dealing with, like the fact that they have now gone 50 innings without hitting a home run.
Their last homer was hit by Pete Alonso in Cincinnati on Wednesday.

With stars such as Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, Starling Marte, Francisco Lindor, Mark Canha, and Eduardo Escobar, the Mets have a lineup that is more than capable of scoring runs and hitting home runs.
However, the team is dealing with a shocking power outage and is struggling to put anything together.
The Mets are fortunate to be close in the Wild Card race, but their bats have gone silent and have caused them to start slipping in the standings.
But the slump is even more shocking considering who the Mets have in their lineup.
The Mets were expected to compete with the Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies for the top spot in the NL East.
While that is still possible, they’ll need the bats to wake up and find some power to end this shocking power drought.
