A full 50 years after David Bowie retired his beloved Ziggy Stardust character, digitally restored footage of the final show is taking to the stage where it originally took place. The 1979 concert film will be screened at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in London on 3 July 2023 Ziggy Stardust and the Spider from Mars: The Movie, Now restored in 4K.

Known as the Odeon back in 1973, Eventim Appolo Hammersmith will roll out the red carpet to honor Ziggy Stardust’s legacy, welcoming some of his frequent collaborators and musical successors to a panel discussion on stage prior to the screening.

recovery Ziggy Stardust and the Spider from Mars: The Movie Also contains scenes of renowned guitarist Jeff Beck’s performance, which were cut from its original release. Shot by filmmaker DA Pennebaker (Monterey Pop, Bob Dylan Don’t Look Back, Depeche Mode 101), the new version—in full 5.1 sound—recreates on-stage star antics and candid backstage moments with Bowie and the spider from Mars, as well as a cameo from Ringo Starr.

In addition to the Eventim Appolo screening, a Q&A and simultaneous screening of the film will take place in cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Italy and Australia on 3 July. Screenings in Canada, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will run throughout July, while additional screenings in the US, Latin America, Asia, France, Spain, Belgium and Scandinavia will be announced.

Tickets for the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith red carpet on May 16 are on sale now, and movie tickets will go on sale May 18.Get details of all announced screenings hereand check out the fix trailer below.
