The Cincinnati Bengals recently exercised the fifth-year option on superstar quarterback Joe Burrow’s contract, which sets up what could be a historic contract extension in the very near future.

With Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts now signed to massive extensions, Burrow and Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers are the next in line to ink new deals, with one of these two likely to set the market for star quarterbacks in the future.

Recently, it came to light that Burrow is considering his teammates when it comes to his new deal, as he doesn’t want to be the richest guy in the building and is unable to contend during his prime as a result, with no one else in Cincinnati getting paid.

In a recent appearance on Up and Adams, future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski shared his thoughts on Burrow’s immediate future and how he believes the Bengals superstar should definitely think of his teammates and take a team-friendly deal via Kay Adams’ Twitter.

All signs point to Burrow signing a team-friendly contract extension, which means it’ll likely be Herbert setting the market for quarterbacks moving forward.

As if the future wasn’t bright enough with Burrow under center, Cincinnati could be set up for a decade or more if this goes forward with a team-friendly deal and their superstar on board with that.

Burrow has only gotten better year after year in Cincinnati and shows no signs of falling off, with the Bengals being a force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future.
