Type O Negative is widely regarded as the definitive goth metal band, so it’s only fitting that a new AI-generated video of the band’s song “Halloween in Heaven” is released on World Goth Day (May 22) .
The late Peter Steele originally composed the song as a tribute to Dimebag Darrell, and it was included on Type O’s final album died again in 2007. “The lyrics allow a lot of experimentation in this area,” says Larre, “to this universe that’s both grotesque and kitsch, and I hope it’s a tribute to the band. The real challenge is to incorporate legendary artists into these images. It’s hard. Explain to the AI the small details that make them as unique as humans. In the end, this video must have gone through hundreds, if not thousands of iterations!
Larre continued: “As an artist, I think it is necessary to be humble when using artificial intelligence, as this topic has caused some moral debate in the creative community. In my opinion, these creations should not be considered works of art in themselves. , but should be seen as the first step in a technology that will revolutionize audiovisual creation in the coming years.”
