Andrew McCutchen has bounced around a little bit over the course of his career.

However, he has spent the vast majority of his playing career with one team, that being the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The veteran outfielder and designated hitter reached the Major Leagues back in 2009 and helped guide the Pirates to three consecutive winning seasons and postseason berths from 2013-15.

He was traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2018 and later spent time with the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers.

But the bulk of his accomplishments have come while wearing the black and gold.

On Monday, he made some important Pirates history when he reached 1,500 career hits in a Pirates uniform.

On Twitter, the Pirates congratulated their homegrown star on his accomplishment.

McCutchen returned to the Pirates this past offseason on a one-year contract after five years away from the organization.

It’s obvious that the fans in Pittsburgh missed him after he left the team.

However, there is no love lost and McCutchen was more than happy to make a return trip to the Pirates.

And in his first season back with the team, he has accomplished an impressive feat.

With this accomplishment, McCutchen became the 12th player in Pirates history to reach 1,500 hits during their time in Pittsburgh.

The Pirates are one of the original MLB teams and have a rich history.

McCutchen is certainly a big part of that history.

The slugger won the National League MVP Award back in 2013 when the Pirates were on the rise.
