In corresponding action on Saturday, the team recalled left-hander Keegan Arkin from Norfolk.
Rodriguez, 23, is 2-2 with a 7.35 ERA in 10 starts. The right-hander threw 45 1/3 innings with 56 strikeouts and 21 walks for a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.7. He has given up 13 home runs.
In April, Rodriguez hit 11 homers in 24 1/3 innings with a 4.07 ERA. In May, he had an ERA of 11.14 and allowed 27 runs (26 homers) in 21 innings in five starts.
He allowed nine runs (including eight homers) on six hits (including three home runs) and three walks in 3.5 innings for the Texas Rangers on Friday. He struck out six in the 12-2 loss.
Akin, 28, is 1-1 in 13 appearances off the bench with a 5.91 ERA oriole this season
In 2022, Akin is 3-3 with a 3.20 ERA and 45 appearances (starts) with two saves.
