A knife fight in the East Village left one man dead and another wounded over the weekend — shocking neighbors of the normally “quiet block.”

Police found Michael Gillegbower, 31, at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday in front of a building on East 10th Street between Avenues B and C with several stab wounds to his torso, cops said.

Authorities brought him to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he was pronounced dead.

An unidentified 28-year-old man — who had been stabbed in the back — was taken into custody and brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. He was listed in stable condition.

Cops found two knives at the scene, law enforcement sources said.

On Sunday, a pool of blood still stained the pavement outside the building.

A 46-year-old neighbor who lives across the street told The Post that he heard screaming outside on Saturday night. When he looked out his window, he saw a man laying on the ground.

“There was a pool of blood in the street — I could see it from my window,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything like this happen before on this block. It’s a quiet block.”

A friend of the deceased stood near his death scene on Sunday, weeping.

“He was my brother, he was like a big brother to me,” the friend said of Gillegbower.

“Michael was a really good person. He fixed bikes, he loved riding bikes around,” the pal added. “I’ve known him my whole life — this is just crazy.”
