Fairbanks said his hip “locked up” during warmups before the ninth inning in Sunday’s 11-10 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He didn’t play. His last pitch was on Friday.
The 29-year-old Fairbanks is 0-1 with a 1.54 ERA in 13 appearances this season. Fairbanks was in IL training earlier this season with right forearm inflammation.
Kelly, 30, is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in six games (two starts) Rays this season
