The Boston Celtics are once again on the wrong side of history.

The winningest franchise in the history of the league failed to get the job done when it mattered the most, knocking on the door of glory again.

However, as hurt as they may and should be after another failed postseason run, Celtics veteran Al Horford reaffirmed his love, respect, and admiration for the guys sharing the locker room with him.

The Dominican big man praised the leadership of some of his teammates, once again shedding light on the positive aspects of the season.

That’s Al Horford 101 right there.

Besides his steady contributions on both ends of the floor, one might say that he’s been the staple inside that locker room, a true leader and the actual definition of a veteran.

Horford even urged coach Joe Mazzulla to cancel the film session so the team could get together and play some golf, loosen up, develop rapport, and get back into this series.

He’s been a major contributor to the Celtics’ success ever since he arrived in Boston, and while he hasn’t done enough to have his jersey hanging high in the rafters, he’ll forever be a fan favorite and a guy tied to the organization in one way or the other.

Horford still has some left in the tank, and he should still be a consistent player on both ends of the floor next season, but his title window is closing, and it would be a shame to see him go ringless.
