Paramore attended the first of two dates at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night during their ongoing tour (ticket rush here). Several rude audience members caught the attention of lead singer Hayley Williams, causing her to intervene from the stage.
Photographed by TikTok user madblackbimbo, Williams and the rest of the band are rocking that’s why Follow “Figure 8” as two people in the crowd apparently start pushing others around them. Williams then stopped abruptly to address them.
“Crap! Fuck you! Also, did I see, like— what happened? Yeah, I’m going to embarrass you both,” Williams yelled from the stage. “You both need to find somewhere else to deal with that shit because it’s not going to happen here.” The band starts playing again and the song starts over.
In the past, Paramore has insisted on the security of the show. Last October, they responded to allegations that a male audience member verbally and physically assaulted women in the crowd: “To make it as clear as possible: Paramore shows are supposed to be safe places for people. If you can’t respect that, Just don’t come,” the band wrote in a statement.
