The Arizona Diamondbacks were lucky enough to acquire Zac Gallen at the 2019 trade deadline.
Little did they know that the right-hander would blossom into a true ace.
Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, Gallen made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Miami Marlins before joining the D-Backs.
This season, the 27-year-old has been dominant once again, but has been especially dominant at Chase Field, the home of the D-Backs.
Dating back to last season, Gallen has made himself right at home at Chase Field.
In his past 12 home starts, the star right-hander is 10-1 with a 0.68 ERA and a 0.68 WHIP.
According to OptaSTATS on Twitter, Gallen is the first pitcher to have 10 or more wins and an ERA and WHIP below 0.70 over a span of 12 home starts since Walter Johnson did it from June 12 to September 15 of 1917.

Gallen is one of many young pitchers who has blossomed into a true ace.
His dominance currently has the D-Backs right in the thick of the race for the NL West title.
But his numbers at home are truly astounding.
He has recorded four scoreless outings at Chase Field.
Gallen now has an MLB-best 0.66 home ERA this season.
For the entire season. Gallen is 7-2 in his 12 starts with a 2.72 ERA over 72.2 innings of work.
The star righty has also recorded 82 strikeouts and posted a WHIP of 1.03.
Gallen won 12 games in his 31 starts last season and posted an ERA of 2.54.
It’s been more of the same in 2023, especially at home.
But the Diamondbacks will certainly take it.
