The New York Mets have always been a team that is aggressive in improving their roster.

This past offseason was no different.

New York was looking to acquire starting pitching on the open market.

They landed one of the best options in Justin Verlander but they were not satisfied.

The Mets decided to go overseas and look for another ace from Japan.

We have seen many great Japanese players come over in recent years, with Shohei Ohtani being the most prominent.

It appears that the Mets have found another great pitcher in Kodai Senga.

According to Anthony DiComo, the New York media is giving Senga plenty of praise after his most recent start.

Senga took the mound against the Phillies on Tuesday night and he completely dominated them.

He threw seven innings and allowed only one hit, as the Mets won the game, 2-0.

This was the best start of Senga’s short MLB career and it came against their division rivals.

After what has been an up-and-down season for Senga, this start was a bright spot.

What was most impressive was that the righty did not walk anyone.

He has struggled with command at certain points this season but that was not the case on Tuesday.

Even though the Mets are not having the season they have hoped for, Senga has turned into a bright spot.

New York is 28-27 and is currently tied for second place in the NL East.

They must continue to rely on their starting pitching as they continue through this season.
