An NFL career is officially underway for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans, as he is now the new face of the struggling franchise and will be one of the teams to watch during the 2023 campaign.

As the Ohio State product adjusts to his new surroundings in the NFL, the 21-year-old is already expressing his opinions about his peers in the league.

Stroud was recently asked who are his top-five quarterbacks in the NFL and gave some interesting answers via Dov Kleiman of BroBible.

Stroud going with Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles is interesting, to say the least, especially with Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes at No. 2.

There’s no doubt that Hurts is a quarterback on the rise with a potentially bright future ahead as the new superstar quarterback for the Eagles, but putting him ahead of Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen is bold.

Mahomes is now a two-time Super Bowl champion and arguably the best player in the league, and already one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Hurts has only been a “great” quarterback for one full season, which resulted in a Super Bowl appearance, but he fell to Mahomes and company.

Burrow has also had multiple years of success as the leader of the Cincinnati Bengals, and the same can be said for the Buffalo Bills superstar under center in Allen.

This list will likely be viewed differently in the years to come, with some of the players moving up and down, but as of right now, Mahomes deserves the top spot over Hurts.
