Just two days before the new album’s release, Kristen and Queens share another new single, “A Day in the Water.” paranoid, angel, true love come out. Listen to it below.
“A Day in the Water” expresses an appreciation for water and all its figurative and literal cleansing properties. With big bass synths and soft vocal leaps, the song lyrically explores singer Chris’ vulnerability, conceptually using water as a metaphor for his desire to go “deeper and deeper” into vast waters, and in the process become “softer”.
“This song is about that feeling of being in deep water, when you feel like the world can’t touch you anymore,” Chris explained in a statement. “It’s behind the glass of your own melancholia, but in that deep vulnerability, hopefully the light will come. The light of honesty.”
paranoid, angel, true love Because Music will air on June 9th. It is the fourth record from the French pop star, who is currently on tour.
