Smoke from wildfires in Canada will disrupt flights again on Thursday after hundreds of flights were delayed a day earlier due to reduced visibility, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The FAA said that due to reduced visibility due to wildfire smoke, it “may need to take steps to manage the flow of traffic safely into New York City, the District of Columbia, Philadelphia and Charlotte.” Traffic was suspended until 9:15 a.m.

Hundreds of flights were delayed Wednesday at LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport because of the smoke. The FAA briefly and completely suspended traffic into LaGuardia during the day.

Nearly 800 flights across the U.S. were delayed by around 9 a.m. ET Thursday. Flight Tracker FlightAware.
