Masked metal band Slipknot released a surprising six-track EP, Chlorohydrin, and two new music videos. The videos are for previously unreleased tracks “Memories (Adderall – Rough Demo)” and “Death March,” both clips directed by Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan.
this Chlorohydrin The EP contains alternate versions and arrangements of the band’s song “Adderall”, as well as non-LP tracks “Death March”, “Red or Redder” and “Hard to Be Here”. The original version of “Adderall” is the title track from Slipknot’s latest album 2022’s over so far.
“Deconstruction continues to pave the way for evolution,” Joker said in a statement about the new EP and video. “At this point in the project, nothing is safe.”
Earlier this year, Slipknot released the surprise indie single “Bone Church,” which featured another Joker-directed video. To date, the “Bone Church” video has over a million views.
In other news, Slipknot has been dealing with some roster changes lately. Joker is absent from the band’s current gig to be with his wife, who suffers from an undisclosed health issue. “We’ve been through this before and as always we thank you all for your love and support. See you all soon,” he said on social media.
Slipknot also recently parted ways with keyboardist Craig Jones, who has been part of the veteran metal band since 1996. The band shared the news on social media without giving a reason for the split, saying: “To our fans, Slipknot announces that we have parted ways with Craig Jones. We wish Jones all the best for the future.” The new member has taken Jones’ place, playing the band’s European tour at the Nova Rock Festival in Austria on Wednesday night (June 7).
Slipknot will return to the US with festival dates in July (Rock Fest and Inkcarceration) and September (Blue Ridge Rock Festival). Tickets for the Slipknot show now on sale here for US shows and here For international concerts.
