The Phoenix Suns-Chris Paul saga appears to be just starting now after the team reportedly could waive the veteran point guard.

Paul landed in Phoenix in 2020 from the Oklahoma City Thunder, becoming a key piece for the Suns.

After the 2022-23 season ended with the team eliminated in the second round of the NBA playoffs, many rumors surfaced about Paul’s future.

The Suns were reportedly ready to move him via trade, but now the situation has changed.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there are four teams that will make a lot of sense for Paul in the free market.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are in a similar position right now since their starting point guards are set to become free agents.

D’Angelo Russell and Russell Westbrook did a good job with these franchises, but different reasons could prompt them to leave them.

As for the New York Knicks, they could benefit from the presence of a veteran like Paul.

They have a very good team led by Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle, but it felt like they missed a piece during the 2023 playoffs.

Adding Paul could take them to the next level in the Eastern Conference.

As for the Golden State Warriors, it’d be shocking if they land Paul.

Sure, Stephen Curry can play off the ball and give the responsibility to lead the team to Paul, but this seems unnecessary right now.

The Warriors have other issues to address and fix and adding a point guard with Paul’s qualities isn’t one of them.

This can be a very interesting race but we need to sit and wait to see what’s next for Paul and which team will acquire his services.
