Jimmy Butler has led the Miami Heat all the way to the 2023 NBA Finals.

The veteran swingman once again has proven that his game improves whenever the playoffs arrive.

After posting big performances in the prior rounds, fans feel a little disappointed with Butler’s numbers in the Finals.

JJ Redick recently came to Butler’s defense and clarified that he’s not a big scorer and those games with over 40 and 50 points aren’t that common for Butler.

Moreover, Redick compared Butler to Nikola Jokic, as they both try to involve their teammates in the game as much as possible.

Jokic is a great passer and a terrific facilitator who knows he can impact the game in more than one way.

Butler has shown that during his tenure with the Heat, and this postseason was more visible than ever.

Against the Boston Celtics, he used this formula before taking over in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Butler had big games playing this way, but he’s been unable to do the same against the Nuggets.

His teammates haven’t lived up to expectations, which is hurting the team’s chances.

They will need to step up if they want to win Game 5 and go back to Miami.

Max Strus and Caleb Martin need to play better along with the rest of the supporting cast if the Heat have any chance left in the series.
