The Los Angeles Angels have been an interesting team this season.
After another lost season with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani in 2022, they have busted out of the gates playing good baseball in 2023.
While Trout and Ohtani deserve much of the credit for the Halos’ turnaround, rookie shortstop Zach Neto is also performing quite well.
He has provided a spark at the top of the lineup and in the field.
On Monday night, he made a 94.3-mph throw to nab Marcus Semien at first base in the bottom of the tenth inning at Globe Life Field.
On Twitter, Sarah Langs of MLB.com posted a video of the throw and pointed out some interesting facts.

This play by Neto is the fastest tracked infield assist in all of baseball this season.
It is also the fastest tracked infield assist by an Angel since the Statcast era began in 2015.
Neto certainly made quick work of Semien as he fired a strike over to first base to nab him.
It also helped the Angels keep the game tied and it ultimately set up what took place in the next two innings.
Ohtani hit the game-winning home run and the Halos won by a final score of 9-6.
And though Neto’s throw may get lost in Ohtani’s heroics, it still was an important part of the Angels’ victory over the Rangers on Monday.
A slightly slower throw may not have nabbed Semien at first base, which ultimately would have brought in the winning run.
But Neto made a game-saving play and managed to keep it tied.
