Netflix Reveals Squid Game Season 2 Cast: Seong Gi-hun Returns

Netflix lifts the curtain on highly anticipated season 2 squid game In its tudum event In Brazil on Saturday, a cast that mixes old and new characters was revealed.

As previously confirmed, season 1 protagonist Sung Ki-hoon (Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae) returns alongside the supervisor of the game’s forward (Lee Byung-hun). Undercover cop Hwang Joon-ho (Wei Ha-joon) and the nameless mysterious man (Gong Yoo) who recruited Ki-hoon into the game will also return in Part 2.

In a teaser video, Netflix announced four new cast members for the second season: Shi Yun Im (unlock), Kang Ha Neul (Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure), Park Sung Hoon (glory), and Yang Dong Geun (Yaksha: Relentless Action). No details about their roles are available yet. Watch the video below.

A release date for Season 2 has also yet to be announced, but squid game Fans can get their fix at the same time Squid Game: Challenge, a reality series based on the show, will premiere in November. The match spanned 10 episodes, with 456 players vying for a cash prize of $4.56 million, rather than the fictionalized 45.6 billion won (about $38 million) squid game. Check out the trailer here.
