Right after he led the Denver Nuggets to the NBA championship and was awarded the NBA Finals MVP award, superstar center Nikola Jokic wasn’t sure if he would want to stick around for the team’s championship parade.

But he was there, after all, on Thursday, and he and his teammates got to celebrate with their adoring fans.

A video shows Jokic living it up while dancing to a Soulja Boy song later that night.

The big man was thinking of heading home to his home country of Serbia right after winning the championship, but he remained in the States instead, and Nuggets fans are very glad he did.

Nuggets fans are also grateful and proud that he just put together one of the best individual postseasons in league history.

Jokic finished the playoffs averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists a game while shooting 54.8 percent from the field and 46.1 percent from 3-point range.

At age 28, he appears to be early in his prime, and with the relatively young age of his core teammates, many currently believe Denver is poised to win at least one more world title in the next few years.

Doing so won’t be easy, given the immense amount of talent across the NBA and the fact that a team such as the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, or Miami Heat may reload for next season.

But at least for now, Jokic is on top of the world, and all the recognition he has received is well-deserved and possibly a little overdue.
