On Friday morning, the NBA announced a severe suspension for Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies.

He will miss the first 25 games of next season and will also have to meet certain requirements before the can suit up and play with his team again.

But Morant will be missing out on even more than just 25 games, according to Brian Windhorst.

Speaking on First Take, via NBACentral, the NBA expert said that Morant “is at least looking at $50 million losses.”

Windhorst then called that “as bad of a penalty as we’ve seen in the history of professional sports.”

That’s an awful lot of money, so how did Windhorst come up with that figure?

Morant will not be paid for the games that he misses in the new season – and he didn’t get paid for the eight he missed last season due to his first incident with a gun on social media.

Additionally, he missed out on being part of the All-NBA team last season, which cost him money.

Finally, he is going to lose a lot of business with missed sponsorship deals because of all this.

In total, Morant is going to be giving up a lot of cash.

Morant swore that he is going to spend the summer “working on his mental health” to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again.

While everyone is hopeful that this is true and that he will be on a different, healthier path moving forward, others aren’t so sure.

There are some fans who now have zero faith in Morant after the multiple incidents that have gotten him to this point.

The lost faith of fans might be the biggest loss of them all.
