After four NBA titles won in the Bob Myers era, the Golden State Warriors could be on the verge of a drastic transition, with the team’s longtime general manager walking away from the franchise and Mike Dunleavy Jr. taking over.

The major question heading into the offseason now that Myers has decided to move on is what the future holds for veteran forward Draymond Green, who recently decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Warriors.

All signs point to the Warriors and Green coming to terms on a new contract to keep him in the Bay Area for the foreseeable future, but there’s always a chance that another team swoops in with an offer that he can’t refuse.

Former NBA player Iman Shumpert recently spoke with Gilbert Arenas and Josiah Johnson about Green’s future and how leaving the Warriors would impact Stephen Curry and company in San Francisco via Fubo Sports.

Losing Green is not going to have the same impact as losing Curry, but it will definitely prove costly to Golden State, as the team will lose their undisputed leader on the defensive end of the floor, which may be enough to knock them out of title contention.

However, Green is not getting any younger and has seen his game fall off considerably over the last couple of years, especially offensively, where he’s sometimes become a liability.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Warriors approach contract talks with Green this summer and how much they value his contribution to the team.
