Guns N’ Roses Hit Back at Negative Press Over Glastonbury Set

Guns N’ Roses have responded to negative press after receiving multiple negative reviews for their recent performance at Glastonbury.

GN’R highlights two reviews from major UK publications: one by music critic Neil McCormick The Telegraph Subtitled “Welcome to Mumble,” there’s a harsher piece independentMark Beaumont called GN’R “the frontrunner for the worst Glasto headline ever”.

Beaumont relentlessly writes that Axl Rose “is in the low register (similar to a clogged lawnmower) and high register (sounds like Barry Gibb suffering from the mother of all weddings) Flip between.” Ouch.

The band responded by taking Twitter To surprise both writers, they tagged each Twitter account and borrowed a line from the song “Chinese Democracy”: “…it takes more hate than you @neil_mccormick @Markbeaumontuk. “

Meanwhile, some viewers watching the show at home via the BBC were unhappy with the poor live production and sound. tweet One viewer: “The sound quality of #GunsNRoses at #BBC’s #glastonbury2023 is absolutely horrible, barely audible vocals or guitar riffs! Get rid of the lads!!!”

Guns N’ Roses has since issued a statement accusing the BBC of destroying some TV mixes.

“Axo was at his best last night. We’ve looked into this further and it looks like the broadcast is having issues playing on certain TVs like UHD,” the update reads (via Wales Online). “It’s an unfortunate problem that the mixes played through these TVs sound terrible; however, it’s not the band’s fault, it’s the BBC’s fault.”

Hopefully any sound issues are isolated incidents as GN’R is on a lengthy world tour with a show in London next Friday (June 30th).Get tickets for their upcoming concert here.
