this new orleans pelicans Veteran center Cody Zeller has agreed to a one-year, $3.1 million contract, his agent Sam Goldfeld told ESPN on Sunday.
According to NBA rules, the contract with the free agent will officially take effect on Thursday.
Zeller, 30, will be playing for the team for the third time in three seasons after playing his first eight seasons with the Charlotte Hornets.
Zeller, signed by the Miami Heat as a free agent in February, averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 games (two starts). Zeller averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 21 playoff games as the Heat reached the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Denver Nuggets.
In the 2021-22 season, he will play 27 games off the bench for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Overall, Zeller has career averages of 8.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 509 games (275 starts).
Zeller was a college star at Indiana University and was selected by Charlotte with the fourth overall pick in the 2013 draft.
