MLB All-Star weekend has always been one of the most exciting times of the year.

We get a look at the best players in baseball competing in the All-Star Game.

But we also get one of the most enjoyable events in the Home Run Derby.

Each year there seems to be a new star emerging from the Derby.

Last season the league was introduced to Julio Rodriguez, who put on a show for all baseball fans.

Now many baseball fans will get a look at one of the best catchers in baseball for this year’s Home Run Derby.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman has entered the event and the Orioles are excited to see him perform.

Rutschman was a former number-one overall pick and he has lived up to the hype early in his career.

He was named to his first All-Star Game this year and has helped the Orioles to a 49-33 record.

We rarely see a catcher enter the Home Run Derby.

Rutschman has hit 11 home runs this year and he is known more for his gap-to-gap power than home run power.

It will be interesting to see which side Rutschman chooses to hit from.

He is a switch hitter that has eight home runs as a lefty and three as a righty this season.

Also, the right field wall in Seattle is five feet shorter than the left, meaning it would make sense for Rutschman to go up lefty.

The Home Run Derby is one of the best events each year and the Orioles catcher should add to the intrigue.
