Justin Trudeau invites Taylor Swift to bring the ‘Times Tour’ to Canada, joining the ranks of political Swift
Swift’s recent announcement of a 14-show European tour with Paramore on July 5 prompted the prime minister to put his country on the possibility of a series of stops.
“It’s me, hi. I know a lot of parts of Canada would love to have you. So don’t let summer be brutal. We hope to see you soon.” Trudeau tweet, making sure to reference Swift’s “Anti-Hero,” “I Know Places,” and “Cruel Summer” along the way. Swift had not responded by press time.

In addition to Trudeau, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently dipped into the Swiftie pool, calling Taylor Swift ham, eggs and cheese New Jersey’s official state sandwich.Previously, Glendale, Arizona, temporarily changed its name to “Swift City,” Swift was invited to serve as mayor emeritus of Tampa, and Arlington, Texas, renamed one of its streets “The Taylor Swift Way.”
