For the last several years, Patrick Beverley has been one of the NBA’s better 3-and-D guards, not to mention one of its more reviled players because of his incessant trash-talking.

But he has started to bounce around the league, as he has played for four different teams in the last three seasons.

Beverley just signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the team is giving him a nice welcome.

Beverley could be a nice fit for the City of Brotherly Love with his fighting spirit and his lack of a verbal filter.

The Sixers have looked like championship contenders over the last couple of years, but they have not reached the Eastern Conference Finals since 2001, and they could use a little more chutzpah in order to get over the hump.

Beverley may not be quite the defensive dynamo he was a few years ago, but he can still provide leadership, as well as some occasional 3-point shooting.

The big story concerning the 76ers is the future of James Harden, whom many believe will get traded at some point this summer.

Harden and Beverley were teammates on the Houston Rockets several years ago, but the 2018 regular-season MVP reportedly wants to leave Philly, and the team seems willing to grant him his wish.

He is still a star-level player, but his game appears to be in some type of decline, and it may be time for executive Daryl Morey to cash out and get some usable assets for Harden while the team is still a viable contender.
