Asia-Pacific markets are set for a positive start ahead of key inflation data from India and the United States on Wednesday.

Economists expect U.S. inflation to edge down to 5 percent in June, down from 5.3 percent in May, according to a Reuters poll. Inflation data, as well as producer price data on Thursday, will provide clues to the Fed’s path of rate hikes.

in Japan, Nikkei 225 Index Expected to extend Tuesday’s gains, the Chicago futures contract was at 32,385 points and the Osaka futures contract was at 32,320 points, compared with a last close of 32,203.57 points.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was also on track to open higher, with futures at 18,761, compared with a close of 18,659.83.

However, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index Futures are pointing to a weak open, currently at 7,096, below the index’s last close of 7,108.9.

All three major U.S. stock indexes rose overnight, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining the most by 0.93%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 0.55%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.67%.
