Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of Twitter, announced on Wednesday the formation of xAI, a new artificial intelligence company with the goal of “understanding the true nature of the universe.” Musk and his team will share more information during a live chat on Twitter Spaces on Friday, according to the company’s website.
The team behind xAI are alumni of DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, and Tesla, according to the company’s statement. website, and participated in projects such as DeepMind’s AlphaCode and OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 chatbots.
