For many years, DeSean Jackson was seen as one of the most explosive players in the NFL.

His speed alone caught the attention of many across the league, and his consistent ability to evade defenders is found on countless highlight tapes.

Jackson’s last in-game appearance was last season with the Baltimore Ravens, starting just one game.

According to a recent Instagram post from Jackson via Dov Kleiman, Jackson said, “Did it my way 15 years strong!” and also, “Neva anotha like it!”

As Kleiman points out, Jackson holds two NFL records.

He has the most career touchdowns of at least 60 yards, and he’s tied for the career lead for touchdowns of at least 80 yards.

Jackson was the very definition of a deep threat.

While there have been other players since that have possessed similar qualities, particularly regarding speed, they haven’t necessarily been able to emulate Jackson.

Players like John Ross and Mecole Hardman have been lauded for their speed on a football field, but that hasn’t materialized into long-term success.

If these rumors of retirement are accurate, Jackson’s career finished with 12,092 total yards, 3 Pro Bowl selections, and four kickoff returns.

Jackson’s regular season yardage is the 37th-highest in league history, just behind DeAndre Hopkins, Rod Smith, and Calvin Johnson.

When the thought of Jackson’s retirement came into the fold, many fans expressed that he’ll be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer.

Jackson not only had great success on the football field, but he had a great rapport with teammates, along with tremendous fan support as well.
