After weeks of speculation, veteran star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is expected to become a member of the Tennessee Titans this coming season.

He will give the team a much-needed shot in the arm after they dealt with a disappointing 7-10 finish in 2022 and finished near the bottom of the NFL in multiple offensive categories.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill reacted on Twitter to the news that Hopkins will apparently be joining his team.

The Titans were likely hoping to make a serious run at a playoff spot when the 2022 campaign ended, but Tannehill had a disappointing season, and he was benched at one point in favor of Malik Willis, a rookie that was a third-round draft choice.

Tannehill is about to turn 35 years of age, and some likely feel he is on the downside of his career.

But perhaps the biggest problem Tennessee had last season was their lack of viable wide receivers.

They finished 28th in points scored and passing touchdowns, as well as 30th in passing yards and total yards, and their most productive wideout was Robert Woods, who managed just 527 receiving yards.

Hopkins may be a bit diminished compared to what he was a few years ago, but he still put up 717 receiving yards in 2022 despite playing in just nine games.

Not too long ago, he made the Pro Bowl five times in six years while also being named to the All-Pro First Team three straight times.

Combined with star running back Derrick Henry and a strong rushing defense, Hopkins could be just what the Titans need to be competitive again.
