YATRA 2023: Director F&ES Takes Stock Of Fire Safety Arrangements At Chandanwari

SRINAGAR: To review the fire safety arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023, Alok Kumar (ADGP), Director of Fire & Emergency Services, Jammu & Kashmir, had an extensive two-day tour starting from July 15, 2023. The tour covered all yatra base camps along the Pahalgam Axis, including Pantha Chowk, Mir Bazar, Nunwan, Mammal Helipad, and Chandanwari base camps.

According to a statement, the Director assessed the fire safety arrangements implemented at each camp to ensure the safety of the yatris. He expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and the preparedness of the deployed firemen in these camps to handle any emergency situation. The Director also appreciated the efforts of other stakeholders involved in the pilgrimage.

During interactions with the officers and firemen, the Director of Fire & Emergency Services J&K highlighted the importance of the holy yatra and urged them to remain vigilant and alert in order to respond promptly and efficiently to every emergency call.

The respective camp Directors and officers from different security agencies briefed the Director about the various arrangements made for a safe and secure yatra. The camp Director of Nunwan base camp specifically highlighted the quick and effective response exhibited by the firemen of the camp during a fire incident, which was swiftly controlled due to their prompt actions.

The ADGP was accompanied by the Command Officer, F&ES Anantnag, and other department officers. (GNS)
