We poor Bohabs would never have figured this out: GWAR has taken over NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series.
Well, it happened, and it sounds pretty darn good. Scumdogs squeezed into the cramped space of NPR’s offices to perform four songs, including the songs “Sex Cow,” “I’ll Be Your Monster,” “Ratcatcher,” and “Phantom Limb.”
The idea was conceived in part by mimicking the headlines of news sites hard times It read: “GWAR asks NPR’s small desk staff if they’re ready to have their assholes ripped open.” As it turns out, the NPR staff has approached GWAR about the idea.
“Suddenly my text messages exploded,” NPR’s Lars Gotrich wrote in the video’s description. “Is it real? No, it’s really fake. Is it real? Little do they know, and since 2019 I’ve been talking to one of the group’s subordinates, putting “Scumbags of the Universe” Take to the office with soda and sensuality.”
Blothar the Beserker commented on the band’s so-called “NPGWAR”: “We’ve learned a lot from those good folks at NPR. All things considered (huh), this is a relatively tame performance by GWAR standards (sadly no fake blood spouted on the little table).
