The event sparked a war between humans and “programming,” and Joshua (Washington) was tasked with ending it. As the agent tries to hunt down the AI’s creator, he also encounters a weapon the mysterious figure created to end the war once and for all–only it ends up being more vivid and innocent than any gun or bomb.

The film is written by Edwards and Chris Weitz, with Yarif Milkan, Michael Shaffer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer and Zev Forman serving as executive producers. The film will be released on September 29.
Edwards is best known for directing the 2016 film Rogue One, Washington was last seen in David O Russell’s star-studded film amsterdam.
