Shohei Ohtani may ultimately be on the move at the trade deadline this year.

The Los Angeles Angels were dealt a crushing blow on Sunday night when they came to within one strike of defeating the Houston Astros but ultimately squandered the lead and took a loss.

Angels owner Arte Moreno has been adamant that Ohtani isn’t going anywhere, but with the Halos falling out of contention, that may change.

If that does change, it’s still anybody’s guess as to where Ohtani may end up, but MLB Network’s Jon Morosi believes that the Baltimore Orioles could be a possibility for the two-way superstar.

Morosi reiterated the fact that the Angels may not be trading Ohtani, but that they are currently listening to offers.

Morosi noted that the Orioles certainly have a lot of appeal as a potential trade partner for the Halos, thanks to their young talent on the position player side and even the pitching side.

That young talent could potentially be of interest to the Angels.

Baltimore has Jackson Holliday, Jordan Westburg, Colton Cowser, Heston Kjerstad, Joey Ortiz, Connor Norby, Coby Mayo, and Samuel Basallo in their system.

Morosi believes that this crop of young stars could potentially entice the Halos as they consider what to do with Ohtani, as well as keep them competitive if the trade ultimately goes through.

The Angels fell to six games back in the Wild Card race with their loss to the defending World Series champions.

But Baltimore has won eight consecutive games and could be prepared to take a shot at landing Ohtani.
