Prodigy musician Nandi Bushell shares the latest example of her versatility with her cover of Adele’s “Easy on Me.”
according to resultAs the 2021 Freshman of the Year, this is the first time she’s shared a video of herself singing and playing the piano at the same time, but she’s clearly been putting in work behind the scenes. Not only is Nandi’s impeccable piano playing, but she also showcases her beautiful voice, which will only get better as she grows. Watch the performance below.
“Please go easy on me,” she wrote in the video’s caption. “This is the first time I’ve posted a video of me singing and playing the piano at the same time. I really hope you all enjoy it. The song is ‘Easy on Me’ by the incredible artist Adele.”
Bushell is not the first drummer to perform on Adele’s hit single. Last year, Travis Barker turned it into a thunderous hard rock anthem. Speaking of Barker, Bushell released a drum cover of Blink-182’s classic “All the Small Things” a few hours before Adele’s cover.
In the caption, Bushell hailed Barker as a “legendary” and teased that she had “more” videos coming soon now that she’d finished her summer break. It sounds like we might be hearing covers of Green Day, Arctic Monkeys, Paramore and Rush in the near future. Watch the full “All the Little Things” cover below.
Earlier this year, result Celebrate Bushell’s 13th birthday by looking back at 13 of her greatest musical moments to date. More recently, she has covered The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” for Meg White, and she has also covered New Orleans Rhythm Kings saxophone on “Tin Roof Blues.”
As for Adele, you can catch her perform “Easy on Me” during her Las Vegas residency of “Weekends with Adele” here). Just don’t throw anything at her when you’re on stage.
