A Step Closer To An Anti-Aging Pill? Harvard Researchers Find Age-Reversing Chemical Cocktails

Scientists have been racing to find a “fountain of youth” pill with the potential to extend lifespan or reverse aging. Are we there yet? It looks like we’re one step closer to a elixir of immortality.

In a potentially groundbreaking discovery, a team of Harvard University researchers has discovered six chemical cocktails they say can reverse the aging process in human and mouse skin cells.

Dr David Sinclair tweeted: “Excited to share our latest publication: We have previously shown that age reversal can be achieved by switching on embryonic genes with gene therapy. Now we have shown that this can be achieved with a chemical cocktail This, it’s a step toward affordable whole-body rejuvenation,” said Molecular Biologist at Harvard Medical School and co-author of the study.

“We identified six chemical cocktails that restore youthful genome-wide transcriptional profiles and retrogenomic age in less than a week without compromising cellular identity. Thus, rejuvenation through age reversal can be achieved not only through genetic , can also be achieved through genetic “chemical means,” the researchers wrote in their study published in the journal Aging.

The study assessed drug mixture It contains the growth hormone metformin and a drug that activates enzyme-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which works to rejuvenate aging muscle, liver tissue, and other organs.

“Studies of the optic nerve, brain tissue, kidney and muscle have shown promising results, with improved vision and increased lifespan in mice and, most recently, in monkeys this past April,” said Dr Sinclair explain.

The team claimed they found age-reversing effects for all six combinations. In a landmark 2019 study, a four-day treatment with the cocktail was as effective as the overall changes observed a year after regenerative therapy.

Dr Sinclair added: “This new discovery offers the potential to reverse aging with a single pill, with applications ranging from improving vision to effectively treating age-related diseases.”

However, some researchers are skeptical of this finding.Biogerontologist Matt Kaeberlein tells us Earth This is only a preliminary study, and researchers should test the effectiveness of at least one of the mixtures on age-related health markers or longevity in animal models.

Metabolism researcher Dr. Charles Brenner has raised concerns about the safety of the drugs used in the cocktail. “These drugs are generally not safe when used alone or in combination,” Brenner said.
