Jets Insider Reveals Promising Mekhi Becton Update

The excitement for the upcoming NFL season is starting to build for the New York Jets.

They appear to have their best shot at winning the Super Bowl since the last time they did so, which was all the way back in the 1968 season.

The biggest reason why is the arrival of future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who already owns a world championship ring and seems revitalized by his move to the Tri-state area.

But the entire team seems revitalized, and one piece of proof is the fact that offensive lineman Mekhi Becton has been working hard and has reportedly lost plenty of weight.

Rich Cimini tweeted that Becton is ready to return to football activities after missing all of 2022 with a knee injury and that he is poised to return to the left tackle position.

Becton was going to shift to right tackle during training camp last year after George Fant took over the LT spot, only to suffer the avulsion fracture of his right kneecap that prevented him from playing in any games.

He was the No. 11 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and had previously played in just one contest in 2021 due to a cartilage injury in his knee.

Pass protection will be key for New York, as Rodgers is 39 years of age and not quite as mobile as he was in the past.

He saw his production drop last season with the Green Bay Packers, and it is an open question as to whether he will boost his numbers this season or if Father Time has finally caught up with him.
