Veteran wide receiver Marquise Goodwin signed with the team cleveland browns March, Friday added to non-football illness list for blood clots

“It was really shocking at first because I’ve had injuries throughout my career, but there’s never been anything like this that can turn out to be harmful if left untreated,” Goodwin told the team’s website. “I was terrified at first, but now I’m relieved about it. I’ve prayed and given it to God. It’s out of my control, the only thing I can control is my effort and attitude and how I spend each day.”

Goodwin will still be around the team when training camp begins, attending meetings and showing up on the practice field but not participating.

“I’m grateful for that and hopefully this thing can get back under control and I can feel my body and feel what I need so I can help this team through this game,” Goodwin said.

Goodwin, 32, played for the Seattle Seahawks last season, catching 27 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games (two starts).

In nine NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2013-16), San Francisco 49ers (2017-19), Chicago Bears (2021) and Seahawks, he had 187 career receptions for 3,023 yards and 18 touchdowns.
