Mitsky quietly — very, very quietly — joked that she’s done with her next studio album and that the first single will be out on Wednesday, July 26.
In a voice memo emailed to fans, the musician announced her 2022 follow-up laurel hell will be named The land is uninhabitable, and neither are we, It was recorded at the bomb shelter studio in Nashville. since laurel hell, Mitski collaborated with David Byrne on “This is a Life,” their contribution to the film’s score Everything happens at the same time. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song that year.
