Team USA, filled with some of the most impressive NBA stars in the world, is currently in Las Vegas, practicing and preparing for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Head coach Steve Kerr is figuring out which rotations he likes and how he wants to approach the tournament.

That means there would be a few bumps in the road as they figure it out.

On Friday, a “select team” filled with players who are not on the official squad beat Team USA in a practice game, which has some people worried.

But Kyrie Irving says no one should be freaking out just yet.

In a Twitter post on Friday night, Irving urged calm:

“It Happens, it’s part of the game when everybody is trying to find a role and earn playing time. You Gotta give the guys on the World Cup team time to Gel and get to know each others game. Don’t over reach with this post.”

To be fair, the select team was filled with some legitimately great talent, such as Cade Cunningham, Herb Jones, Chet Holmgren, and others.

Team USA wasn’t taken down by a bunch of high schoolers.

Plus, the games that they were playing were only ten minutes long and Kerr was changing things up often during them.

He was constantly switching out who was playing and the focus of the team, trying to find a rhythm he likes.

Therefore, Irving is right and fans shouldn’t be panicked.

But some of them will be because they really want Team USA to do well in the World Cup.

America’s team only reached seventh place last time and they have sworn they will do better this year.

The competition is tough and fans in the US want to see their squad sail past the competition on the way to winning it all.

They don’t want any losses, even to select teams during practice sessions.
