The New York Jets are getting a lot of attention during this NFL offseason due to the recent acquisition of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom the team received in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Although the Jets trading for Rodgers has dominated the headlines in New York, and justifiably so, New York was a team on the rise last season, with the defense leading the way.
One of the best players on the defensive side of the football for the Jets, and in the entire league for that matter, was cornerback Sauce Gardner.
The rookie corner took the NFL by storm last season as he quickly became one of the elite players in the league at his position while leading New York on defense.
Gardner’s emergence as an elite corner is one of the main reasons for optimism for the Jets, as he is as dynamic as any corner in the league today and can singlehandedly change the outcome of football games.
Along with being a game-changer, Gardner is also as sharp as they come, and he showed his football knowledge about his position in an interview with Evan Washburn of CBS Sports.

Clearly, Gardner knows his stuff in terms of what it takes to be an elite cornerback in the NFL and which players in the league, past and present, make the best player at corner.
Coming into the 2023 NFL season, Gardner will be under a lot of pressure to prove that last season was no fluke and that he’s the next great player at the cornerback position and the undisputed leader on defense in New York.
